The ideal Junior Mathematician we are looking for can not only grasp complex research problems, understand basic information and readily identify hypotheses to be tested, but can also explain complex maths and statistics to others who have minimal knowledge. The role will involve the development of both algorithms and professional graphical interfaces to the algorithms. This is a very challenging role and you will need to be able to think creatively to solve numerical, mathematical and programmatic problems.
Requirements Junior Mathematician: -BSc. or MSc. degree in Mathematics or Physics or similar discipline. -Strong knowledge or experience of applying mathematics to analyse and optimise (physical) systems. -You will have above average maths skills. -Strong knowledge or experience using software to implement mathematical models e.g. C, C++, Java, Python or Matlab. -Ability to develop and optimise novel algorithms. -Excellent English language verbal and written skills. -Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt to a multi-cultural working environment. -Must demonstrate problem-solving skills. -Ability to balance quick service, quality in production of deliverables and meet deadlines. -Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite Products including, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. -Must be a quick learner when it comes to new programming languages and/or concepts.
