As an extensively experienced Java Software Engineer in the Development and Engineering teams, you will design, build, deploy, test, and support products across a variety of technology stacks. Senior Java Developer’s responsibilities
-Commits to complete a given work within agreed time limits;
-Produces code that is tested and compliant to coding principles applied within the project;
-Aligns closely with Tech Lead/Solution Architect (as applicable);
-Alerts other team members and project manager of impediments and delays;
-Troubleshoot issues;
-Collaborate with team to develop and release new features;
-Works independently on any task and produces clean and self-documenting code;
-Advises other team members on technical solutions;
-Perform code reviews;
-Assists in estimation and work breakdown of technical tasks.
 
Senior Java Developer’s essential Skills & Knowledge
-Minimum of 9 years experience in a Java software development function;
-Experienced in Java, Javascript, XML, JSON, HTML;
-Strong knowledge of OO design principles and patterns;
-Experience with Spring framework and Hibernate ORM;
-Ability to translate use cases and requirements to working implementation;
-Enthusiastic coder;
-Strong analytical and communication skills;
-Good written and verbal skills in English;
-Perseverance to solve complex problems;
-Ability to work under pressure;
-Ability to work in a multicultural and international environment;
-Has in-depth knowledge in one or more programming languages;
-Understands complex technical aspects and can support technical decisions;
-Strong knowledge of design patterns;
-Focus on performance and maintainability;
-Strong understanding of OO Concepts and approach;
-Bachelor and/or Master Degree in a Relevant Field of Study (i.e. Computer Science, Web Development, Graphic Design, New Media, Engineering, Liberal Arts, etc.).
 
The ideal Senior or Principal Java Developer candidate will have minimum of 9 years professional software development experience. In addition they should have experience developing tools functions in a financial firm, either directly or for a vendor.
