CI/CD, configuration management, tooling and good old scripting enables them to automate everything they feel can be automated. A large part of your regular day-to-day job as a DBA consists of tech deep-dives into the OS’ses they run on clouds, configuration management, Red Hat Ansible Tower, Bash scripting, Linux environment, Jenkins open source automation server and taking everything into the future of database automation.
As an Oracle DBA, do you have the following skills to join one of their highly sophisticated teams?
-You are comfortable operating across platforms and have in-depth experience in databases;
-You have more than 5 years working experience on Oracle databases;
-You know your way around Linux operating systems;
-You frequently use one or more scripting languages such as Bash or Puppet;
-You are familiar or have experience with Red Hat Ansible Tower, GIT, Jenkins, Maven;
-You have high end DBA troubleshooting skills and experiences;
-You are a true team player who has an opinion and wants to take ownership;
-You have an excellent ability to express your ideas and challenge your peers, and communicating with stakeholders and customers internally.
Can’t place checkmarks behind every item on this list? But you do have that great DevOps mind-set working in a Linux environment, troubleshooting, you script, have experience with Ansible or maybe Puppet, GIT, Maven and just really want to automate, you are still welcome to apply.
