SDP is seeking an exceptional DevOps / Openstack Infrastructure engineer with a proven background of delivering hyperscale infrastructure. Someone who is highly motivated, and passionate about building best of breed solutions, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. In this role you will have the opportunity to have a significant input on the architecture, working with the CTO.
You will be passionate about improving systems for daily operations, for build delivery and continuous integration to provide a platform for improving the stability of core technical products. You will be focussed on automation and improving workflow, in providing tools and systems for delivering builds, and build stability. You will help to develop and oversee continuous delivery tools and pipelines for consistent releases with minimal downtime through automated build processes, packaging, testing and deployment. You will identify and address any functional and performance issues as well as security risks and manage, monitor and maintain a hybrid infrastructure built with a global scale in mind.

Role: Devops / System Administrator/ System Engineer/ Hybrid Infrastructure Engineer / Openstack infrastructure
Hours: Full time
Salary: Dependent on experience
Contract: Permanent
Location: Amsterdam
Key responsibilities;
-To be accountable for the openstack infrastructure.
-Ensuring the infrastructure is optimally designed to deliver a first class service to the customers.
-Ensuring that the company is operating efficiently (no sprawl, right sized).
-Ensuring services are well maintained and up to date.
-Ensuring services are highly secure.
-Ensuring that the roadmap is maintained.
-Providing an input in to budgets and planning as required.
-To provide support as required, including out of hours for major incidents.
-To automate wherever possible.
-Keep up to date with the latest technology to ensure the company remain at the leading edge.
-To support and coach staff as required.
-Configuration management: script, test and deploy automation recipes using Puppet.
-Support development and QA to satisfy their day to day needs.
-Provide computer/network support for software and hardware problems.
-Research and implement new tools for increased productivity, security, reliability and performance.
Key background and experience;
-Design and architecture (including security).
-Windows and Linux workloads.
-Preferably experienced or knowledgeable with Hyperscale infrastructure design / support.
-Orchestration using frameworks such as OpenStack, Azure Stack, Kubernetes.
-Database administration (MS SQL, MySQL).
-Automation / scripting (e.g. Powershell, bash).
-Systems management toolsets (e.g. SCCM, Puppet, Saltstack).
The following would be an advantage;
-Experience with containerisation (eg. Docker).
-Experience with Jenkins.
-Programming experience (ideally Javascript).
The following are essential;
-5+ years of previous relevant experience.
-Proven track record of delivery.
-A “can do” attitude - there is always a way!
-Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
-Structured and methodical in problem solving.
-Strong communication skills and flexible team player.
