DevOps System Admin, Windows and Linux.
The DevOps System Administrator will maintain (and partially be involved with developing) systems and architectures that include software, hardware and communications solutions to support the total requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces. As a DevOps System Admin you will work with collaborative ICT Infrastructure and Development teams to ensure client technologies are functioning as efficiently as possible. You will be responsible for installing, operating and maintaining a heterogeneous environment consisting of servers running Linux, VMware and Windows. The servers are used to host web applications, and include Apache, Tomcat, and SQL. Network devices include routers, firewalls, switches, load balancers, and network attached storage. A full suite of compliant security and management applications are also included.
As a DevOps System Admin you are involved with ensuring architectures are in compliance with open systems standards as they apply to the client’s environment. Evaluate compatibility of information systems with agency architectures and recommends adjustments, as appropriate. Evaluate problems of workflow, organization and planning and develops appropriate corrective action.
So in this role, it’s also important to collaboratively work with software engineering as well to maintain systems and infrastructure. You will help streamline development operations and processes. You will maintain and help build tools for regression testing, deployment, monitoring and operations. And troubleshoot and resolve issues in dev, test and production environments.
This is a challenging, technical diverse, and fun position for a DevOps System Administrator dealing with Systems, Development and Testing. Most suitable for an open-source enthusiast with strong communication skills and a hands-on mentality.
What is required;
-Minimal 2 years of experience with Linux/Windows.
-Preferably knowledge of programming and scripting.
-Working in small teams to keep control of a hybrid Windows/Linux environment that is running on an Openstack Infrastructure.
-Configuration management: script, test and deploy automation recipes using Puppet.
-Support development and QA to satisfy their day to day needs.
-Provide computer/network support for software and hardware problems.
-Research and implement new tools for increased productivity, security, reliability and performance.
For this position you should satisfy the following criteria:
-Self-starter with good organizational and analytical skills.
-Solid ability to work in a team oriented environment.
-Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
-Linux configuration, management and administration.
-Windows configuration management and administration.

-Programming /Scripting for purposes of DevOps (Python/Ruby).
-Puppet.
-Docker.
-Openstack/KVM.
-Web servers (Apache Tomcat/JBoss).
-Continuous integration and source control (Bamboo/Bitbucket/Git).
-Programming /Scripting for purposes of DevOps (Python/Ruby/Bash).
-Networking.
