The company has a need for a MS SQL Database Administrator to join their existing DBA team. The ideal associate will be a highly competent and highly motivated individual. This MS SQL DBA role requires a service oriented mentality, high sense of ownership of the problems and requests assigned, focus on managing and resolving issues in a prompt & efficient manor, establishing and maintaining communication with technology customers to keep them updated with status of their requests, initiating and performing changes on production systems and proactively escalating any issues that cannot be resolved within the established timeframes.

Responsibilities;
-ensures that service are always available for customers, maintaining a high level of availability and performance.
-monitors and tunes all of the database instances.
-ensures that operations are safe by maintaining the business continuity of the database environments including security, back-ups and replication.
-understands the deployment of metadata changes, both in terms of development and patches.
-ensures that all database standards are correct including adherence to the Data Protection Act, GDPR and PCI.
-writes and maintains user-friendly database documentation.
You:
-are (very) experienced with data and databases.
-have at least 5 years of experience as a MS SQL Server Administrator working with SQL2008R2 to SQL2014.
-have at least 3 years of experience of supporting Always On Availability Groups.
-in depth knowledge of T-SQL tuning and troubleshooting performance bottlenecks.
-have a wide experience with stored procedures, triggers and functions.
-experience with cloud based services, ideally AWS.
-ideally have knowledge of or interest in MySQL and/or DevOps.
