What You’ll Do: -Test and validate scanner hardware across multiple models and Windows OS versions to ensure consistent performance and compatibility. -Design and document scanner software and hardware deployment packages, including changelogs, to guarantee smooth delivery to customers. -Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to drivers, firmware, connectivity, document scanning capabilities and chip (RFID) reading inconsistencies, and hardware-software integration with internal software interfaces. -Evaluate driver and firmware updates from scanner manufacturers, identifying bugs, regressions, and inconsistencies that may impact functionality or system integration. -Collaborate with manufactures support teams, software and cloud engineering teams to replicate issues, document findings, and support resolution of scanner issue firmware-related conflicts. -Design and execute structured test plans, including edge cases and stress scenarios, to ensure robustness of hardware-software interactions. -Maintain detailed documentation of test results, configurations, anomalies, and recommendations for improvements. -Write and maintain detailed customer facing and internal documentation on scanner integration, maintenance, usage and troubleshooting.
Skills required: -Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse and debug complex hardware issues. -Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Windows Operating Systems interaction with USB and network devices. -Experienced or strong knowledge with program languages Windows PowerShell and JavaScript. -Is comfortable reaching out autonomously to external partners for issue resolution.
Education & working experience: -Education: HBO+ bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field. -Hardware testing, problem diagnosis & customer facing experience. -Minimum of +-3 years of software testing experience, preferably in product development settings.
